Community Supported Agriculture
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) connects the community to their farmer and a fresh local food source through a membership-based relationship. Members join the CSA by purchasing a share from the farmer. They then receive goods from the farm for a predetermined amount of time, i.e. "May-October." To read more about CSAs in general visit Local Harvest's page on the topic by clicking here. Being a member in a CSA is a great way to get some of the freshest, tastiest food you will ever know, get involved with your community, and learn how your food is grown.
About our CSA
Our CSA is structured to offer flexibility, along with the security of knowing where your food comes from, and the satisfaction of supporting your local economy.
Members open an account with the farm by prepaying. For their commitment to the farm, they receive a bonus proportional to their prepayment, which is added to their balance. (See below for detailed options). This account is then used throughout the season to purchase produce at and of the farmers' markets we attend.
You won't have to worry about receiving produce that your household does not enjoy, committing to attending the market every week, or remembering to bring cash. Instead, you can look forward to coming to one of our two weekly markets when you want and selecting the produce of your choice! You may choose from all available produce and flowers, and select quantities you prefer. Your balance will be adjusted to reflect your selections without hassle.
In addition to flexibility, you will receive weekly emails with your account balance, available produce, and updates about farm happenings.
